The Landy October 2023

About
Lockdown project, blah blah blah… We all know someone who built a Land Rover while they were being paid not to work. And if we weren’t, we’re secretly jealous of them.
You’ll definitely be jealous of Mark Woodland. When it all kicked off, he went out and found an ex-Army Defender 110 200 Tdi. Yes, really.
Officially, such a thing never existed, but not only did he find it, he bought it – and turned it into a superbly equipped overlanding machine.
In addition to Mark’s 110, the latest issue of The Landy includes a throwback to the days when Td5 90s were way too new and valuable to modify. We found one of the very first ever to get the treatment – and even today, when we look back on it we see one of the coolest Defenders ever built.
The new ‘Fintail’ Range Rover by Khan may also qualify as cool – we’ll leave you to reach your own decision on that. But seeing an eight-strong team of Bowler-built Defender 90s giving it everything on the Scottish Summer Hillrally was very cool indeed.
