PEOPLE OF THE WORLD is a 10-part curriculum for kids grades TK-4 exploring why people move around the world, how it feels to be new, and how we can help those who are new in our classrooms, playgrounds and communities. Through storytelling, activities, and food, students get an immersive, honest, and age-appropriate understanding of immigration and how we can welcome resettling Angelenos. People of the World piloted at LAUSD school Eagle Rock Elementary in Spring 2019.
We've broken down the essence of welcoming refugees into 10 age-appropriate, honest parts:

9) Neighbors
10) Welcome
Each lesson focuses on these key, universally-experiences element of migration, allowing learners of all ages and abilities to contextualize and incorporate what they learn in each section. Sessions begin with a reading relevant to the lesson theme and end with a snack from a place in the world we discussed.
