Former Nissan Motor Co. Chairman Carlos Ghosn’s attorneys say prosecutors illegally colluded with the company and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to force him out.
Ghosn’s defense team argues that the Tokyo District Court should dismiss all charges against him based on prosecutor “misconduct” and facts that prove his innocence of financial wrongdoing.
Ghosn has claimed he is innocent since being arrested last November on suspicion of financial wrongdoing. He has since been accused of underreporting $80 million in deferred income, temporarily transferring personal financial losses to Nissan and channeling corporate funds that benefited him and several associates.
