Geely Chooses Zenuity for Autonomous-Car Software

China’s Geely Auto Group has selected Sweden’s Zenuity AB as its preferred supplier of software for driver-assist and autonomous vehicle software.
Zenuity was launched in 2017 by Geely’s Volvo Cars unit and Autoliv Inc.’s electronics business, now called Veoneer.
Zenuity already does business with Geely Auto and Volvo. The new pact will extend the joint venture’s reach to include Geely’s Lotus and Lynk & Co brands. The company currently employs more than 600 people, Reuters reports.
First applications will be in software for advanced driver assist systems. ADAS features, such as blind spot detection and lane-keeping, are precursors for systems that can drive vehicles autonomously.
