Honda Motor Co.’s Acura luxury brand is relaunching its “Type S” performance line with a concept vehicle to be unveiled at this month’s Monterey Car Week in California.

The concept previews future Acura models that will get the Type S treatment, according to the carmaker. Previous Type S models, which were discontinued about a decade ago, featured power upgrades, a sport-tuned suspension and styling enhancements.
The first new Type S variant is expected to be the next-generation TLX sedan due next year. A 10-second teaser video of the concept reveals a sleek silhouette, thin LED headlights and quad tailpipes. The three-gauge mechanical instrument cluster shows a 7,000 rpm engine redline.
